Kubota didn’t hold back when it came to celebrating their 40th year of being in Australia this month at their annual dealer’s conference in Melbourne. A massive milestone to achieve, having built up a brand that Australians have come to love and rely on in many different operations and a wide range of durable products that have been rapidly growing in the last few years.
Some of Total Ag’s longest-serving employees from our sales team attended the conference; Peter Kay our Smithton branch manager, Larry Cornish our Hobart branch manager and Tony Brooks and Phil Hines, the Total Ag director’s.
Some Kubota executives travelled from Japan and spoke at the conference about the future of Kubota and the great opportunities in Australia. Peter Kay commented, “Kubota was very pleased about the fact that Australia has been a very strong market for the last 40 years. They are very focused on increasing their presence in the Australian market with the acquisition of Kverneland and Great Plains”.
On the last day of the conference, Kubota put on a grand display in a field at Avalon where they had demonstrations of the new machines in action. They had many implements from their three brands; Kubota, Krone and Great Plains, working in the field on the back of Kubota tractors, including the relatively new M7 series tractor. Tony Brooks, the Total Ag managing director, said “it was good to see how beneficial some of these implements will be to our customers in Tasmania, with the high-quality Kverneland products and now Great Plains, Kubota are really stepping up in the Australian market”.
Larry thought “it was good to see how they did each presentation in the field, with their implements working on the back of their tractors, it was very impressive”. Bernard Krone from Germany was also at the conference to represent Krone, he spoke about Krone’s commitment to continue to support the Australian market through the dealerships.
Overall it was a great few days of training and meeting with the other dealers around the state. Some of the new products have been ordered which will be arriving from November onwards for our customers to come and have a look at.
